Format How To (part 2)

Re-installing  Windows XP After Formatting C: Drive

Format How To (part 2)Well hopefully you have completed the first step in Harddrive Format of your PC & have now reached the point where Windows starts to re-install your operating system.

The whole process from start to finish takes approximately 40 to 45 minutes depending on the size of your hard drive, the amount of RAM you have installed & of course your processor. As an example for you to judge against, my laptop which is the star in the format videos, has the following specs;

80gb ATA hard drive, 1.6 Celleron processor, 1gb of Kingston RAM

So quite obviously if your computer as an example also has 80gb hard drive, but has a 2.8gb processor & 1gb of RAM, then I would expect it to complete the whole process a little quicker than the 37 minutes it took my laptop to complete the full format & reinstall of XP. Having said that, I would think that 45 minutes is a pretty fair & average estimate.
